The French Connection Festival Gastronomique 2016, A Celebration of French Taste

For the second year,” French Connection – Festival Gastronomique” is being held in Jakarta. This time hosted by fine dining French Restaurant Amuz Jakarta, The event that proves a successful outcome event will bring together celebrity French chefs from around world to celebrate the best of French gourmet food in Jakarta and showcase current international trends in cuisine to Indonesia. At the same time, the festival aims to promote the culinary wealth of Indonesia to these international chefs, for them to incorporate in their cuisine and help to develop International knowledge and exposure of the vast variety of ingredients and products from all around the Indonesia archipelago.

Created by Master Chef Chris Salans last June 2015 with 4 days of successful Gastronomic Fair between Mozaic Ubud & Mozaic Beach Club Bali, this event is now looking to be a yearly affair, moving alternatively from Bali to Jakarta, celebrating French Gastronomy.

This second event of “The French Connection – Festival Gastronomique”, will be an exciting four-days culinary extravaganza of cooking master classes, workshops, dinners and food centered events.

Sharing the limelight with host Chef Gilles Marx, Chef Chris Salans from Mozaic Bali, guests will also be able to taste the exquisite French cuisine from Chef Stephane Bonnat, a renowned chocolatier behind his own brand ‘Bonnat Chocolate’, Chef Jacque Pourcel who is famous for his South France inspired cuisine, and chef Alain Caron, a celebrity chef in the Netherlands.

“Our mission is to share the best and the latest culinary trends to Jakarta’s Diners and also help to promote local produce.” Chef Gilles Marx told the press.

Chef Salans also spoke of the same thing, of creating a buzz, build momentum, and ultimately bring the attention to jakarta, and Indonesia.  “We see it as a cultural exchange between France and Indonesia, for these chefs to try Indonesian food, to explore and discover Indonesian culinary aspects,” Chef Salans added.

What’s new this year? Other than the exciting line up of chefs, expect new recipes, new ingredients, new dishes, and new excitement.

This second event of “The French Connection – Festival Gastronomique” will be hosted by Master Chef Gilles Marx of Amuz Gourmet Restaurant Group with the support of the Ritz Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place; Soehanna Hall and Almond Zucchini  all located in SCBD the heart of Jakarta and South Jakarta.
