Setting The Bar High

Helo again there peeps!

How’s your Ramadan so far? Hope all is going well with you and your loved ones. So have you tried one of our suggestions on where to spend your If’tar moments? Or maybe have you tried to listen any one of the artists that we recommend for you in our ‘PressPlay’ pieces? We hope you’re noticing that we’re shaping ourselves both from content and business perspective. You should expect new revamped website soon and an apps too, because we want to make your lives in Jakarta a whole lot easier.

From the heated political world, the firebrand cleric Rizieq Syihab is now suspect in pornography case, and many predict that this will be an interesting trial as some extremists and hard line Islamic organization is calling this ‘an attack on Islam’, something that perhaps can only be justified by them, as the most of us don’t share their values. Rizieq himself is yet to be back in Indonesia as he has spent the last few weeks in Saudi Arabia, it is only a matter of time before the police issue a ‘Red Notice’ in an effort to cooperate with Interpol in bringing the man to justice. Although that we quietly hope it doesn’t have to come too that. But we believe justice will be served, and things sure are looking that way. Be patient and keep doing good to one another, in the meantime, you know where to get your fix, right ? check our guide and directory sections for all the coolest new places! And check our Ramadan promo sections to find all the great deals you and your family can enjoy.

10 Must Visit Places for Expats Before Leaving Indonesia

With more than 17 thousand islands and over 300 hundreds of ethnic groups spread in 34 provinces, Indonesia is abundant with both natural and cultural treasure. It can probably take a lifetime to really explore the vast archipelago, even for those living in the country all their lives! Let alone those that just got here or are in Indonesia for just a relatively short time.

But worry not, as with any places, there are destinations in Indonesia that though would not represent the rest, is a must visit for anyone looking for a true Indonesian experience. Check out this list and see how many of these places have you been?!

1.  Bali

A no brainer for anyone coming to Indonesia, this small island has even upstaged Indonesia’s popularity as a tourist destination. Some of the must visit places in Bali includes its world famous beaches, Tanah Lot, Ubud, Bedugul, and the countless luxurious hotels and amazing bars with to-die-for views.

A pricey yet worthy luxury villa in perched on a cliff in one of the most idyllic beaches in Bali, Karma Kandara and Ayana Resort offers one of the best view in the island. We can say these places are some of the best resorts that exist! We strongly recommend spending at least one sunset at Ayana’s Rock Bar.

2. Lombok and The Gilis

Just a few hours by speedboat from Bali, Lommbok island offers an escape from the busier Bali and even more beaches, diving and snorkling spots, and even one of the most beautiful mountain to climb in Indonesia, the Rinjani. In addition to that, there are three islands just off Lombok’s west coast that are a favorite for day-trippers of all diving levels; Gili Air, Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno or The Gilis, as they are often referred to.
