Hard Rock Cafe Goes ‘South of The Border’ With Authentic Mexican Menu

The menu is available at participating Hard Rock Cafe franchise locations across North, Central and South America, as well as Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. The menu includes tacos, quesadillas and vegetarian dishes, all of which incorporate traditional Mexican-inspired flavors.

In Jakarta, Hard Rock Cafe goes all out to keep it authentic by specially sourcing chillies that are essential in Mexican food, yet very hard to find in Indonesia such as habanero, achiote paste, serrano, and aji amarillo peppers. These chili peppers give a different kind of heat to any food it is added to, and irreplaceable in the Mexican cuisine.

For the appetizers, start with something mild such as the Yucatán Style Shrimp Ceviche,  steamed shrimp with lime, orange, avocado and cucumber served with yellow corn chips. There’s also the panko fried Crispy Shrimp with a very distinctive Aji Amarillo Sauce, topped with queso fresco, spicy pecans, cilantro, green onions and feta cheese. For the more healthy option,  The Grilled Shrimp with Mexican Street Corn Salad features achiote grilled shrimp with black beans, topped with pico de gallo, avocado, jalapenos and roasted corn served over spring mix and tossed with a chili orange vinaigrette and a drizzle of Aji Amarillo sauce.

For the main course, hard rock cafe brings the classic Chicken Quesadillas with shredded chipotle chicken served with grilled pineapple, cotija cheese, salsa queso fresco, mixed cheese, picante sauce and a side of sour cream, guacamole and picante sauce. For tacos, you can choose an assortment of Mexican Street Tacos that features a choice of carnitas, barbacoa, southwest chicken, shrimp street-style, and even vegetarian tacos served in white corn or flour tortillas and topped with shredded lettuce, queso fresco, pico, cotija, picante sauce and sour cream.

The Taste of Mexico menu will be perfectly paired with the Tequila Cocktail Tour, which showcases drinks created with Jose Cuervo Tequila, an agave-based distillate made through an ancient process over 500 years old. Featured cocktail offerings include the Amigo, with Jose Cuervo Especial Reposado with maraschino liquor, orgeat syrup, lime, and fresh blueberries, the Diablo with muddled cucumber, mango puree, lime juice, and topped with ginger beer; very very addictive! Lastly, for the daredevils, The Troublemaker is a must try, made with cointreau, fresh lime juice, pineapple syrup, homemade habanero sauce, and for an extra kick, muddled jalapeno rings.
