DSP_bordeaux rendezvous

Organized by PT Dwimitra Sukses Perkasa (PT DSP), this year’s Bordeaux Rendezvous is truly unique as it brings 18 of Bordeaux’s finest wine and their respected representative and winemakers. And not just any wine, but, wine options that even impressed 19th-century French emperor, Napoleon III.

15 out of the 18 wine Chateaus that took part of this year’s Bordeaux Rendezvous are listed in the world’s most prestigious wine ranking system, the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Classification, which was approved by Napoleon III in 1855.

DSP_bordeaux rendezvous_2

This classification lists 87 exceptional wineries that include red wine from Bordeaux’s Medoc region and white wine from Bordeaux’s Sauternes region. Two more important wine classifications of Bordeaux are the Graves region classification (1953) and Saint Emilion region classification (1955), of which three wineries from these two classifications will be present in this year’s Bordeaux Rendezvous.

As France’s largest controlled wine growing region, Bordeaux is home to an estimated 10,000 wineries. As such, the three wine classifications mentioned above are often used by many wine lovers around the world to identify the very best wines that Bordeaux has to offer.

10 Fun Things to Do in Jakarta

Welcome to Jakarta, one of the most underrated cities in the world!

The ultimate attraction of Jakarta is that it is still very safe and a metropolis that fits literally every budget. As Indonesia’s main government and business hub, Jakarta is rarely viewed as a tourist destination, although with its historical sites and authentic cultural heritage, there are actually a lot to explore.

1. Escape to the ‘Thousand Islands’

Jakartans sometimes forgot that under the Jakarta Special Region actually has beautiful islands under the jurisdiction, you can still find white sandy beaches and beautiful underwater habitat suitable for snorkeling and maybe even diving. The key to finding a good place to enjoy Pulau Seribu is: the farther, the better. Don’t even bother stopping over to the overly visited Pramuka or Tidung, but opt for Pulau Macan or Pulau Harapan, which would take a little longer to get, but will have better beach and underwater view.

2. Enjoy Jakarta’s theme parks

Take your whole family to a fun-filled day long excursions to one of the theme parks in Jakarta and its surrounding area. On the north, we have Ancol recreation center with its Dunia Fantasi,  hotels, food centers by the sea, watersports activities and a whole lot of other fun things to do. In East Jakarta, we have the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah or Mini Indonesia, where you can see replicas of the many Indonesian traditional houses in a day. Click here for other fun parks!

3. Get yourself a good game of bowling!

You can do this by yourself, with the help of a map and a travel guide, or  take part in one of the many walking tours in Jakarta.

8. Enjoy a relaxing day at the spa

Indonesia Starts Paying for Plastic Bags & Win a Dinner for Two at Warung Turki/Turkuaz!

Dear Jakartans!

Starting last week, a number of supermarkets and vendors in 22 cities across Indonesia began charging customers for using plastic bags in a bid to reduce waste. The policy, initiated by the Ministry for the Environment and Forestry, will be on a six-month trial run before it is implemented elsewhere and that the cost of each plastic bag depends on the respective provincial and city governments, the Jakarta Globe reports. Although the ministry recommended a price of no less than Rp. 200, The Jakarta government has plans to charge up to Rp 5,000 per bag to customers while Balikpapan has reportedly charge Rp. 1,500 per bag.

Finally, some possible good environmental news: Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya has implied that the government may transform the currently commercially-used Senayan Golf Driving Range (not the previously reported Senayan Golf), located within the Gelora Bung Karno complex into a city park as early as next month,Kompas.com reports. We can’t wait until this comes true!

After Joey Alexander, another proud moment for Indonesians as we are going to have our first F1 driver in history, the 23 year old Rio Haryanto. Despite the controversies regarding the amount of funding Rio Haryanto, backed by State-owned Pertamina and the Ministry of Youth and Sports need to pay to his team—amounting to 15 million euros— Formula One race is indeed one of the most prestigious and he most popular sporting events in the world with number of viewers just beaten by the World Cup and the Olympics. Rio will make his F1 debut at the Australian Grand Prix on 20 March.

Don’t miss out the chance to win an exquisite lunch/dinner for two at Turkuaz/Warung Turki. Just answer this simple question for this week’s quiz: “In what days do the belly dancers perform in Warung Turki?” Submit your answer toturwar.quiz@gmail.com and see if you’re the lucky winner to last week’s quiz here!

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations as well as taking the insight of “Wealth of Fortune” from the eponymous numerology philosophy – TAUZIA Hotel Management is announcing the global debut of its loyalty program, My TAUZIA Privilege!

What is better than to begin a new year with great hopes for prosperity in mind? Simply earning added benefits by unlocking more destinations with My TAUZIA Privilege!

With 43 hotels in operation, TAUZIA Hotel Management is focusing on three main objectives in the coming new year.

First is to acquire new customers, second is to increase the engagement and referrals, and last but never least, is to stimulate loyalty amongst customers. This has prompted the award-winning Indonesian hotel operator to launch an innovative customer’s loyalty program, My TAUZIA Privilege.

Starting today members can earn TAUZIA Points with every eligible stay in participating hotels across the nation.

Membership level for this program is divided into three different tiers and are named following the core motto of TAUZIA Hotel Management: SIMPLE – valid for newly-enrolled members, FRIENDLY – awarded to members who have accumulated at least 10,000 TAUZIA Points within one-year of membership, and UNIQUE – awarded once 25,000 TAUZIA Points have been earned.

“All members can instantly enjoy exclusive benefits in all participating hotels, such as complimentary fruit or snack platter in the room, room upgrades, guaranteed late checkout until 6PM and early check-in starting 9AM, special member-only offers and discounts on breakfast, F&B menus, laundry and spa,” said Tami Wicaksono, TAUZIA’s Corporate Loyalty Program Manager.

Enrollment is completely free of charge and members can self-register by signing up on the member’s site at www.tauziahotels.com by using their social media accounts or by filling in an online application form. Auto invitation option is also available for guests who have made reservations using an active email address.

The loyalty program is supported by advanced digital technology and is entirely operating online. TAUZIA Hotel Management who has been actively supporting more than a bunch of eco-friendly movements, will go the green way by distributing electronic membership cards complete with the holder’s name, membership level and account number.

“As a token of our appreciation, we’re reserving the physical membership card only for the highest-tier members,” said Xavier Droin, TAUZIA’s Chief Operations Officer.

One TAUZIA Point is equivalent to IDR 1,000 spent on qualifying room rates. TAUZIA Points can be used to pay for hotel reservations, partially or in full.

Partnership with Global Hospitality Solutions Pte. Ltd.

TAUZIA Hotel Management appointed Global Hospitality Solutions (GHS), a Singapore-based company with over 12 years experience in providing innovative technology and marketing solutions to some recognizable brands in Asia.

It specializes in hospitality profit optimization through strategic implementation of loyalty marketing, CRM and social commerce solutions.

GHS is assisting TAUZIA Hotel Management in creating new business opportunities, profits optimization and service quality enhancements through the integrated CRM platform and loyalty program iReward.

“We are excited to partner with GHS, as their expertise will help us put our technology on par with that of online travel agents so as to level the playing ground and allow our hotels to gain back control over their guests and lower their distribution costs,” added Xavier Droin, “and all this in a truly cross-platform and mobile-friendly fashion.”
