The 3-in-1 System Officially Scrapped & New Bill on Alcohol

Dear Jakartans!

This week starting on Monday (16 May) the Jakarta Provincial Government has officially removed the three in one carpooling system in Jakarta’s main roads. Following this, Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama said that he is ready to discuss further plans with related parties to regulate the traffic in the area, such as the ‘odd-even’ plate number scheme and also the Electronic Road Pricing.

The House of Representatives started to deliberate a bill on liquor on Tuesday(17 May) that would ban producing, storing, distributing and consuming alcoholic beverages with several exceptions, The Jakarta Post reports. Exemptions to the ban are listed as “limited interests” include alcohol to be used in indigenous rituals, religious rituals, for tourism purposes, pharmaceutical use and at several places that are allowed by the regulation.
