Paulaner Bräuhaus set to Celebrate Fourth Oktoberfest

Paulaner AnstichFollowing last year’s sell-out event, the microbrewery promises even more entertainment and, of course, even more barrels of Oktoberfest Bier

Jakarta, 2 August 2017—Paulaner Bräuhaus, Indonesia’s only genuine German microbrewery, will celebrate its fourth Oktoberfest this year. The festival will run from 4 to 7 October and is set to be the biggest so far for the brewery and the only truly authentic Oktoberfest in the city.

The festivities will be celebrated in the “Anstich” tradition, in which the first litre of specially brewed Oktoberfest Bier will be tapped by the world’s only Indonesian brewmaster, Arie Susanto. The ingredients for this special brew are all imported from Munich and brewed on-site at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta’s microbrewery.

As in previous years, and back by popular demand (theirs and our guests’!), to give this uber-fest even more of an authentic Bavarian touch, folk band Edelweiss Power will be flown in from Germany to entertain partygoers with games, competitions and traditional music, as well as well-known party favourites.

“This year’s Oktoberfest carries on where last year left off,” said Vinu John, Director of Food & Beverages Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta. “We’ll have our waiters and waitresses wearing traditional lederhosen and dirndl dresses, barrel after barrel of beer, delicious wurst and pork knuckle, and singing and dancing until the early hours.” And the party rocks on for four nights, challenging even the most hedonistic of happiness-seekers to keep pace.

This year sees prices for the Wednesday and Thursday nights at Rp 750,000+++, which includes food, free-flow Paulaner beer, entertainment, an Oktoberfest Jakarta mug and a guaranteed seat at a table. Table placement will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Meanwhile, on the Friday and Saturday nights, the price will be Rp 825,000+++, to include all of the above, plus the free-flow of Oktoberfest Bier!

Everyone is invited to come and experience the proud traditions of the world’s funkiest folk festival. Prost, as they say in Bavaria!

Paulaner Oktoberfest BierAbout Oktoberfest Bier

This beer is an institution and was a great hit at our first Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest Bier from Paulaner, with its full-bodied, pleasant taste, pairs beautifully with Paulaner’s hearty delicacies, such as Hendln (roast chicken) or Schweinshaxen (pork knuckle). Its alcohol content of 5% per volume makes it somewhat stronger than the usual lager beer. The specific gravity of the Oktoberfest Bier is also slightly higher, starting at 13.5%. With a hint of malty sweetness, the Oktoberfest Bier has the perfect balance of strength and flavour.
