Maggie Joan’s Take Over

Oliver HydeJakarta, 20 July 2017 – The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place warmly welcomes Chef Oliver Hyde from Maggie Joan’s Dining and Bar Singapore, to share his take on modern Mediterranean inspired gastronomic dishes at the Pacific Restaurant and Lounge. Together with hotel’s own Executive Chef Sean Macdougall, Chef Oliver will bring Maggie Joan’s to life in a wine pairing dinner on August 9th.
Conceived as a tribute to owner Daniel Ballis’ two grandmothers, Maggie and Joan, the restaurant celebrates the way they personified the Mediterranean ethos of good food. Maggie Joan’s is a unique concept in Singapore: a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with a strong underground vibe, serving an energetic, contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. A concept still new to Jakarta, and one that The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place would like to introduce.
Chef Oliver Hyde takes his passion and dedication in artisanship from Singapore to Indonesia with a fivecourse meal. His extensive culinary portfolio begins at a young age and continues to expand, working at the celebrated 3-Michelin-star Waterside Inn alongside the respected Roux brothers, and an experience with chefs such as Gordon Ramsay in his 3-starred ‘Restaurant Gordon Ramsay’ and Jason Atherton.
Since 2015, he has decided to take up the opportunity to head the kitchen at Maggie Joan’s. Together, Chef Oliver and Pacific Restaurant and Lounge will deliver an authentic Maggie Joan’s experience through their artisanal flavours. Located at level 6, the 5-course modern Mediterranean cuisines are combined with modern city landscape for the complete experience.
