First Female General Manager, Cora Stuart of Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jakarta

CORA STUART_5Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jakarta proudly announces the newly appointed first female General Manager, Mrs. Cora Stuart. She brings over 30 years of experience in hospitality management across a variety of five-star properties in Singapore, Boston, Middle East, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines.

A Singaporean hotelier, Cora first began her career as an Assistant Tea Room Manager at The Westin Stamford and Westin Plaza in Singapore; to then expand her skills in Sales and Marketing as Convention Sales Manager. In 1997, she took on her first Director of Sales role at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore. Since then, Cora has worked for several Marriott International properties including; The Ritz-Carlton, Boston, The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain and Bvlgari Resort Bali.

After 17 years of experience in Sales & Marketing, and driven by challenge, Cora moved to broaden her operational skills as a Hotel Manager in Dubai, UAE. From strength to strength, by 2009 Cora, with her management expertise was appointed as the opening General Manager at the Media One Hotel, Dubai. It was there, she received the coveted award of “Best General Manager” by Hotelier Middle East magazine.

After great success in the Middle East, Cora’s journey continued with successful launches and openings of new brands and independent hotels in Philippines and Malaysia. With such diverse, passionate and strong leadership acumen; she has now returned to Marriott International, with Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jakarta as General Manager.

Not only is Cora the first female General Manager at Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jakarta; but also the only female General Manager within Jakarta’s Marriott properties currently. Under the direction of Cora Stuart, is 140 award-winning guest rooms, suites and 54 luxurious private residences. Within the hotel is Bengawan Restaurant, Keraton Lounge, La Moda (a stand-alone restaurant located at Plaza Indonesia), Keraton Spa, and the inspiring Lima Five Lounge.
