Ahok Wants a Jakarta Smartcard and Star Wars, The Force Awakens Released This Weekend

Dear Jakartans,

After much anticipation, this weekend fans all over the word finally get to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In Jakarta, the movie opens in theaters on Friday, 18 December 2015. Criticspredict that this movie is going to be ‘the biggest of all time’, as it has been 10 years the last Star Wars franchise movie, and the star-studded cast has left fans giddy with excitement.

Jakarta’s Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama expressed his interest in adopting Hongkong’s Octopus Smartcard as ‘Jakarta One’. In addition to public transport, the multifunctional card will also be used to for transactions of street parking, ERP, and toll road. Through this card, the Jakarta government will also be able to provide financial aid or even free Transjakarta transport for minimum wage earners.
