INDONESIA JAKARTA April 2016 – Le Meridien Jakarta is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Kanit Sangmookda as the new General Manager. In his new capacity, Mr. Kanit will be responsible for the entire hotel operations and lead the hotel to continually delight guests with its Le Meridien’s hospitality.
Mr. Kanit is a Professional Thai Hotelier, who holds his Master Degree in International Business Management majoring in Management and Economic from Wollongong University, Australia. He brings over more than 15 years of experience working in the leading International Hotel Chains in Asia Pacific such as Marriott International, Minor Hotel Group and lastly Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Mr. Kanit has fist started his hotelier career from lead in position as a reservation agent in JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok. Then he drove himself up the career ladders through continuous learning and development not just limited in hotel management skills like Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing but also managerial skills and leadership to eventually become high ranking executive in Starwood. In his career development, Mr. Kanit had held positions Director of Revenue Management at Bangkok Marriott Resorts & Spa in Thailand, The Westin Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Regional Director of Revenue Management for all the Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Southeast Asia. Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Kanit spent almost three years as General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan – Sabah, Malaysia, where he successfully led the hotel to improve the performance in RevPAR by 27 % year over year. He then balances his free time to follow his self-esteem by being a part time university lecturer in the topic of Hotel Marketing and continually being mentor for several high potential associates in Starwood to become the next generation of Hotel Managers and Executives in the company.
Mr. Kanit is a passionate leader who always believes that the success of an organization is not only from a good leader but has to be from a competent team. He then drives his team to efficiently reach the business goal at the same time as plays a role of supporter or mentor to guide them to fulfill their potential both businesslike and family like. Besides, he is a strong believer of the right leader leading the right team resulting in optimum productivity and high profit performance.
On personal side, Mr. Kanit respects work-life balance and values the importer of family very much. He love music, likes to exercise and enjoys photography.
