This legendary building of Bataviasche Kunstkring was reopened in 2013 under the name the TUGU KUNSTKRING PALEIS without changing the beautiful palatial architecture. It since has been filled with with a vast collection of beautiful artworks and elegant detailing. The Tugu Kunstkring Paleis houses a  a gallery/shop that features beautiful artworks, jewels, lifestyle products and other design items, a fine restaurant that serves the iconic ‘Betawi Rijstaffel’, a balcony overlooking the beautiful park, lounge, and a tea room. Truly a special and authentic old ‘Batavia’ experience.

2. Lara Djonggrang & La Bihzad Bar

Housed in an authentic Dutch mansion, Lara Djonggrang is an artistic representation and historical awakening of the glorious imperial era of the Majapahit Kingdom in an atmosphere of effortless elegance. The cuisine of the restaurant is inspired by a expeditions of by King Hayam Wuruk, who ruled Majapahit in the 14th century. As the king traveled from one region to another, he was presented with the awe-inspiring, delectable, vast varieties of dishes of the hinterlands. Not only is this restaurant a celebration of authentic recipes from around the archipelago, it is also a rich archive of Indonesian art. The bar, La Bihzad Bar, is dedicated to the 15th Century Herat artist, Bihzad.
