After presenting the proceeds with amount of Rp. 158,433,585,- from the JHA 15th Anniversary Golf tournament to Habitat for Humanity in May 2015; it was time for associates from member hotels of the Jakarta Hotels Association to see for themselves and to get involved and their hands dirty by participating in building the houses at Desa Bojongkoneng, Sentul.
On September 2, 2015; a total of 44 participants from 10 hotels were witness on how the proceeds were spent and how this amount provides underprivileged 5 families with decent housing. The one day “Build” was opened by the JHA Chairman, Robert Hogenstijn, by thanking all Members for their participation; after which 4 teams proceeded to help and build.
After a day of digging trenches, laying foundations and building walls everyone agrees that it is great and rewarding we are able to help and improve the lives of 5 families with children at Desa Bojongkoneng. “This building experience was an unforgettable and exciting moment to all JHA Members and we hope that member hotels can continue to support Habitat for Humanity as much more proper low-cost housing is required.
