Formerly known as Mon Decor Gallery (est. 1983), ART:1 is the pioneer in art gallery business in Jakarta. During its 30 years in art business, Mon Decor Gallery had expanded into several gallery branches all over Jakarta. The spacious 4,000sqm building showcases collections of original artworks by Indonesian old masters, modern masters and contemporary artists, curated in the span of over 30 years.

2. Ciputra Museum at Ciputra Artpreneur

Ciputra Artpreneur, with an area of approximately 10.000 sqm, is a place dedicated to art and comprises of three galleries, a museum, a theater with high international standards, multifunction rooms, and other facilities. The Ciputra Museum is institution that exhibits the art collection of Dr. Ir. Ciputra. It also provides information and perspective on the development of Indonesian Art from the modernism period until today especially relating to Hendra Gunawan.

3. Hadiprana Art Gallery

The first art gallery under Hadiprana’s portfolio was established in 1961 featuring young painting artist which later became famous in their own rights, such as Jeihan, Sryhady, and Suparto.

Galeri Hadiprana in  1997 moved to the most artistic area in Jakarta, as an Art Boutique Mall that has since then been the house of very selective high quality art, handicraft, artifacts, paintings, and also art classes both for children and adult.

4. Akili Museum of Art

5. Bartele’s Gallery

Those interested in the history of Southeast Asia and Indonesia may enjoy a visit to the Bartele Gallery, browsing endless treasure in the drawers and outstanding beauty of antique maps displayed.

Bartele Gallery has a fascinating collection of antique maps, old prints, colonial photographs, historic books and antiques, some over 500 years old! The owner, Bartele Santema has together with the gallery’s curator and map expert, David E. Parry assembled this impressive collection of rare treasures.

The gallery, founded in 2009, is the only dedicated shop in Indonesia where you can buy original antique maps and prints. Even if you’re not looking to buy, the gallery, situated in Kemang Raya is well worth a visit. Antique maps are of great intellectual interest, as well as absorbing and intriguing to look at.
