“Universe Behind The Doors” at Artotel Thamrin is a fresh collaboration between the hotel, Art Dept Id, and Generation-G. In total, 26 young contemporary artists are involved in the project; transforming 5 hotel rooms into playful art installations with different themes. The five ‘universe’, what ever the themes, are filled with creativity, daringness, and freedom.
The artists were curated by Sally Texania, together with Art Dept Id. During the process, the artists were then grouped with 5 couples of host; Dian Sastrowijoyo and Maulana Indraguna, Diaz Parzada and Wilsen Willim, Adhika Maxi and Karen Carlotta, Andiedn Aisyah and Ippe Wahyudi, Leonard Theosabrata and Irene Yuliana.
The VIP viewing on Friday, 21 October brings together many figures in the industry, as well as art enthusiasts, to enjoy the night and really celebrate creativity and experimental creations. Triawan Munaf as Chairman of Badan Ekonomi Kreatif (BEKRAF) also attended to officiated the event.
Public view on hotel room was held on 22-23 October 2016, and public view on artspace is open from 24 October – 20 November 2016.
