Latin 50s Experience at Lola – Espiritu y Libacion

Visiting Lola Espiritu y Libacion almost feels like a spiritual journey through different time and dimension. Upon opening a secret door, shone by a pink neon light, a virgin Mary statue welcomes you. Continuing the journey, a stair will bring you even deeper, and finally… a captivating bar illuminated only by dim candles, and decorated by beautiful Latin inspired painting, furniture and ornaments. You are transported to a Cuban bar in the revolution time in the 50s: Lola.

lola_barThe hidden bar is open from 6PM until late, serving wide smiles, soothing music, and delicious meals and drinks for the exhausted. Alone or with friends, your experience will be memorable and full of surprise.

Even their Latin inspired menu will make you curious. Signature cocktails you may want to try while enjoying yourself are Diablo Popsicles, The Cocobongo, and Cane Treasure. They are quite popular among the guest, along with some classic options.

Diablo Popsicles

Diablo_popsicle_lolaA combination between Mexican tequila, fresh lime, cranberry juice, chili powder, and just like its name, the cocktail is served with an ice popsicle stick on top. It also tastes just like one, sweet and refreshing. Enjoy the drink and take a bite of the popsicle alternately.

The Cocobongo

Cocobongo_lolaAnother sweet drink, a combination of raspberry rum, Caribbean coconut rum, melon liquor, pineapple juice, and nata de coco. Easy to share between friends, the drink is great for a ladies night out. It tastes really soft and has smooth texture with a little bit of thickness from the foam.

Cane Treasure

Cane_treasure_lolaServed in a tall tiki glass, the cocktails is a combination of brandy, red wine, sugar cane juice, and fresh lime. Carefully taste the medium bodied red wine, hidden among the sweet and sour of citrus and sugar cane. Overall, it gives you refreshing effects.

Platter_lolaFor the meal, a platter consists of two seasoned style fries, nachos de sol, mini burger, and empanadas is perfect for sharing between three to four people. The highlight of the dish is the mini burgers with tomato slice, red onion, beef patty, mustard, and a surprising jalapeno chili. The taste is powerful, accompanied by extreme heat from the chili. Our favorite on the plate would be two seasoned style fries with balado and barbeque powder. They are fun to eat while having a relaxing conversation.

lolaThere is definitely nothing ordinary about Lola. The elegant, classy, and edgy bar is worth your visit at least once. But remember, you are not visiting just to get drunk, but to enjoy the night and atmosphere. Let yourself to be relax and fully savor everything they offer.
