gnota event 2

The National Movement of Foster Parents (GNOTA), launched in May 29th 1996, is a non-profit, independent & transparent social organization initiated by people who care about children’s education. GNOTA is committed to protecting Indonesian children’s education rights and supports the 9-year compulsory basic education program.

For 20 years GNOTA has helped more than 2.3 million educational support packages for Foster Children scattered throughout Indonesia covering children from urban areas, remote and inland areas that are difficult to reach due to the lack of facilities and infrastructure, poverty areas, natural and cultural reserve areas, coastal areas and small and remote islands.

GNOTA will inaugurate the newly designed and advanced website; it is user friendly and will provide more accurate information to facilitate foster parents to donate. The inauguration of this website will be held alongside with Kartini Day on Friday 21 April 2017, at 09.00 – 11.00 WIB at GNOTA’s office with the theme of the spirit of R.A Kartini in education.

Chairman of the GNOTA Foundation, Gendis St. Hatmanti said: “As R.A Kartini said, equality in teaching and education is important, not as a competition but for a better impact in the future. Based on her concern is not only about women’s right, but also education for the nation.” For R.A Kartini, education is important. Education can raise the personal quality and the dignity of the nation. So does GNOTA in supporting the education of children in Indonesia. GNOTA believes that education has a major impact on Indonesia’s future.

Through the inauguration of this new website, we greatly hope that this website will be able to accommodate all the information needed by foster parents and makes it easier for us help Indonesian children together. It aims to help Indonesian children get 9 years of basic education and prevent children dropping out of school. GNOTA’s commitment remains faithful and steadfast in continuing to encourage Indonesian children to achieve their dreams and raise the nation.
