The idea for Good Practice came from Dr Steven Graaff,MD,MRCGP who graduated from the Medical School of the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He worked in several hospitals and occupational health, before he did his post graduate training as a family physician in the United Kingdom. He also passed his Membership exam of the Royal College of General Practitioners in the United Kingdom. He has worked for 6 years in Primary Care in the UK and several years in the Netherlands before joining a major International assistance company in Jakarta.

Dr. Graaff believes that health is not just the lack of illness, but being well in body, mind and spirit. Through Good Practice, he offers evidence-based medicine, following current clinical guidelines and providing continuity of care, most health problems can be dealt with by a well-trained family physician. Good Practice even has one of the only fully electronic medical record systems in a family clinic in Indonesia. The clinic is also staffed by certified, registered Indonesian professionals who share this idea and who are keen to bring Primary Care in Jakarta to a better level.
