The appointment will add an even more authentic touch to the hotel’s already popular traditional Chinese wedding ceremonies, as well as to its variety of menus.

“We are pleased to welcome Chef Yao to our multinational team,” said Executive Chef Mathias Olsson. “He brings with him authentic recipes, styles and choices of traditional ingredients that will not only help boost our current Chinese menu offerings but will also give our Chinese wedding customers a culinary experience they won’t get anywhere else outside of Hong Kong.”

Meanwhile, Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta General Manager Alex Pichel said: “This is a milestone for the hotel. We always aim to staff our kitchen with experts in their fields and with chefs who have authentic backgrounds. Chef Yao Tak Cuen is both of these and we look forward to seeing the results of his appointment on our menus and on the plates of our guests.”
