Nils-Arne Schroeder is the new Regional General Manager for Indonesia of Hilton Worldwide and the General Manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta Diponegoro. The latest appointment underscores the commitment of Hilton Worldwide to positively impact the travel and tourism industry of Indonesia.
In his regional role, Nils is based in Jakarta and will oversee the operations within the current portfolio of trading hotels within Indonesia in destinations including Bali and Bandung. He will support the preopening of the pipeline properties, and is responsible for the strategies in Indonesia. He will also play a vital role in employee training and development, while driving performance across various aspects including financial success, brand value, guest satisfaction and engagement as well as service quality.
Nils has over 20 years of hospitality experience, half of which was spent with Hilton Worldwide, and is familiar with the Asian market having previously held the position of General Manager of Hilton Beijing Wangfujing which he opened just prior to the Summer Olympics. Under his leadership, the hotel won numerous accolades including “World’s Leading Lifestyle Hotel” at the World Travel Awards for three consecutive years and was the only Hilton-branded hotel to be awarded the “Five Star Diamond Award” from the American Association of Hospitality Sciences.
Most recently, Nils was the General Manager of Conrad Seoul, an award-winning property which he opened in 2012 and has established as a leading hotel in South Korea. Amongst many accolades the hotel has achieved under his supervision, the hotel has won “Asia’s Leading New Hotel” at the World Travel Awards and “Best New Hotel” at the annual World Luxury Hotel Awards.
