Today when we’re constantly surrounded by a whirlwind of digital noise and social media frenzy, retreating to a book, a tangible book made of ink and paper that is, seems to serve beyond educating oneself but also a therapy to the mind. 1. The Learning Castle

The Learning Castle is a pre-school that also has a library that offers a fun time for your kids while reading their big collection of book. The place is as cozy as home, with comfortable couches, bean bags, and grass mat. The bookshelves are designed uniquely to make the kids more interested grabbing the book from them. And what makes reading more fun here is there are costumes your kids can wear. They can have a simple play with those costumes based on the book they read. Price: Rp 20.000/person for 2 hours.

2. Jakarta Public Library at Cikini

The library is provided by the government, so no charge needed. This place also has big collection of book with a spacious and comfortable area for the kids. Best part of Jakarta Public Library is the mini playground corner, so there would be no boring time in the library.

3. Rimba Baca

Even though the place is not big, Rimba Baca is still a cozy and comfortable place to read with your kids. Combined with supporting facilities such as computers, snack corner and activities corner that make reading even more fun and enjoyable. The place also offers good collection of book and other educational activities, such as making simple craft and art.

4. National Library

national library of indonesia kids areaThis library is the newest and the biggest in Indonesia, towering high at 27 floors. On the 7th floor, you can find an area dedicated for kids. The collection is not yet the biggest, but we’re hoping for more books coming in the future and this expansive library still makes a great option for an alternative family excursion. Entrance is free for all but to borrow a book home, you will need to make a membership card that is very fast and easy to make but limited to Indonesian citizens.
