1O1 TRAVEL SKETCH – Yogyakarta the City of Heritage We Walk, We See, We Draw

Jakarta, January 2018. 1O1 Travel Sketch Yogyakarta city edition supported by PHM Hospitality, Hotel, THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu and Sketchwalker was successfully held on 6 – 7 January 2018. The event was attended by more than 450 participants and invitations dedicated to promoting local destinations, preserving cultural heritage and historical heritage of Yogyakarta including its local culinary in the form of sketches and to encourage young people to be more creative in actualizing their creativity through sketching.

For this second edition, the event with themed “Yogyakarta the City of Heritage”, the location of Travel Sketch took a place at Pasar Kranggan, Klenteng Poncowinatan, Tugu Yogyakarta Monument, Vredeburg Fort, Titik Nol Yogyakarta, Pasar Beringharjo and Malioboro Street.

– Workshop Transportation sketch in watercolour with Agustinus MP

– Human Interest Workshop with Sheila Rooshwitha Putri

– Heritage Architecture Workshop with Artyan Trihandono

– Interior Café and Resto Sketching Workshop with Yandi Prayudhi

Then followed with travel sketch to the location of Tugu Monument Yogyakarta, Kranggan Market and Klenteng Poncowinatan. In the evening, we held a fun gathering or “obrolan santai” with the theme of Wedangan, raising the topic “Mlaku, Ndelok, Nggambar” ( walk, see, draw in Javanese language) at Hotel THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu with Butet Kartaredjasa, Djoko Pekik, Widiyatno, Irwan Sukendra, Suwarno Wisetrotomo, Nasirun, Motulz Anto, Artyan Trihandono and others.

On the second day the event was opened in Car Free Day Margoutomo area located in front of Hotel THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu attended by Haryadi Suyuti – Mayor of Yogyakarta, Butet Kartaredjasa, Istidjab M. Danuagoro – Chairman of DPRD PHRI DIY, Yunianto Dwisutono – Head of Yogyakarta Tourism Office , Gun Nugroho Samawi – Director of People’s Sovereignty, Ananto Wibowo – Camat Jetis Yogyakarta, Budi Tirtawisata – CEO of Panorama Group and other invites.

Then the participants going to Vredeburg Fort, Zero Point Yogyakarta, Beringharjo Market, and Malioboro Street. On this second day also held a workshop Sketching for Kids with Odie Astadi.

At the end of each event, a sketch auction was held which the fund raised will be donated to the the selected community as a form of CSR. The auction was also attended by Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Mangkubumi and Butet Kartaredjasa, members of KADIN Yogyakarta as well as some local community leaders. For the city of Yogyakarta donations collected at Rp 26,850,000 which will be given to the foundation that handles Autism children, namely SLB Bina Anggita School.

The series in several cities are organized to promote local tourism in Indonesia, especially where PHM has a hotel chain as well as to celebrate 45 years of Panorama Group – an integrated group of companies focused on Tourism, Transportation, Hospitality and related businesses.
