If you’re used to the fried Kwey Teow commonly found in Indonesia (usually in Chinese-Indonesian types of establishments), the Penang one is more fragrant with the use of Malaysian shrimp paste, loaded with seafood such as shrimp, clams, and oysters served on banana leaf.

From Kedah, there’s the Kedah Laksa that is nothing like the more popular coconut milk Laksa. Kedah’s version is clearer and resembles more the Thai tom yam goong broth, but with a more unique flavors of fish (mackarel) and chopped ginger flower.

Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim was present at the opening and even showed his abilities to cook his version of Penang Kway Teow.
