Jakarta Looks Forward to Fast Airport Train | Saudi’s King & Entourage Visits Jakarta

Dear Jakartans!

State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II announced in a statement on Sunday that a 36.3-kilometer railway line connecting Manggarai Station in South Jakarta with Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, will be operational as early as July this year, offering travelers a cheaper and faster alternative for travelers, The Jakarta Globe reports. We are so excited about this newest development and looking forward to a macet-free airport commute.

Following Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud’s visit to Jakarta, some roads will experience minimal reroutes and blocks to accommodate the King’s epic entourage of 900 people, which includes princes, ministers and businessmen. The King and his entourage are arrived at 11.30 in Halim airport, and went straight to Bogor Presidential Palace to meet President Joko Widodo and will return to Jakarta to stay in Raffles Hotel Jakarta.

The Indonesian Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency predicted rain on some parts of South of Jakarta for today, and overcast on the rest. Scattered thunderstorm will also persist in Jakarta for the rest of the week.
