Ayana Midplaza Jakarta Welcomes Mr. Denny Tanaka As Executive Assistant F & BJAKARTA (JUNE 2017) – Described as a dynamic food and beverage professional, Mr. Denny Tanaka joins AYANA’s management team in April 2017 to helm the hotel’s food and beverage department.

His  broad experience in several countries, namely Dubai, Fiji, Bahrain and his home country of Japan, Tanaka now plans to call Jakarta home. His recent experience in Fiji, where he led a team of 240 colleagues during the expansion and re-positioning of the resort’s dining and entertainment makes Tanaka a valuable team player as AYANA continues to transition from InterContinental MidPlaza Jakarta.

Tanaka has been involved in management at InterContinental Hotels Group since 2005, when he began his career with the company at InterContinental Tokyo. From 2008 to 2010, Tanaka is credited with spearheading the rebranding of ANA to InterContinental hotel group.

His unique management experiences include being part of the Executive Committee at InterContinental Regency Bahrain from 2011-2013, where he led the department to re-open an iconic property. In 2013, Tanaka re-located to Dubai, where he was responsible for the entire food & beverage operation and a team of 350 colleagues, inclusive of kitchen, service and administration. He led the opening of the hotel’s 13th restaurant, a new Brazilian concept, along with several restaurant renovation projects.

At AYANA Midplaza JAKARTA, Tanaka will oversee AYANA Midplaza Jakarta through various aspects of the hotel’s operations.

In his spare time, Tanaka enjoys outdoor activities such as jogging, fishing and playing golf. He also likes to explore many other countries for leisure and work. He also looks forward to getting to know Indonesian people and their culture, as he finds that Indonesia’s culture is warm, which is most suitable for the hospitality industry.
