The city’s only microbrewery promises days and nights of entertainment, plus barrels of last year’s big hit, the Oktoberfest Bier
Jakarta, 13 August 2015—Paulaner Bräuhaus, Indonesia’s only genuine German microbrewery, will celebrate its second Oktoberfest this year, with the biggest beer celebration in Jakarta to run from 7 to 10 October following last year’s sold-out event.
The opening night will kick off with the “Anstich” tradition, in which the first litre of specially brewed Oktoberfest Bier will be tapped by Paulaner Brewmaster Arie Susanto. The ingredients for this special brew are all imported from Munich and brewed on-site at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta microbrewery.
Like last year, to give this uber-fest an authentic Bavarian touch, the renowned folk band X’elcht’en is being flown in straight from Munich to entertain partygoers with games, competitions and traditional music, as well as well-known party favourites. Last year’s Oktoberfest games were a huge hit with the audience and most definitely brought out the child in everyone.
“This year’s Oktoberfest carries on where last year’s left off,” said Sri Murtana, Paulaner Restaurant Manager. “We’ll have our waiters and waitresses wearing traditional lederhosen and dirndl dresses, barrel after barrel of beer, delicious wurst and pork knuckle, and singing and dancing until the early hours.” And the party rocks on for four nights, challenging even the most hedonistic of happiness-seekers to keep pace.
One entrance pass to the Paulaner Oktoberfest includes our famous family-style Bavarian food plus free flow of special Oktoberfest Bier and is priced at IDR 990,000 net per person. Group tickets are also available from IDR 8,580,000 net per table of 10 for companies and families looking to host guests and friends or to celebrate in a fun and memorable atmosphere—whatever the occasion.
Everyone is invited to come and experience the proud traditions of the world’s most funky folk festival. Prost, as they say in Bavaria!
About Oktoberfest Bier
This beer is an institution and was a great hit at our first Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest Bier from Paulaner, with its full-bodied, pleasant taste, pairs beautifully with Paulaner’s hearty delicacies like Hendln (roast chicken) or Schweinshaxen (pork knuckle). Its alcohol content of 5% per volume makes it somewhat stronger than the usual lager beer. With a hint of malty sweetness, the Oktoberfest Bier boasts the perfect balance of strength and flavour.
