Jakarta, October 6th, 2015 – Celebrating National Batik Day on October 2nd, Century Park Hotel’s associates wore batik attire or put a touch of batik on their clothing. Department Heads had the privilege to wear a custom-designed suit by Anne Avantie, Indonesian prominent fashion designer, mostly known for her glamorous kebaya collection. The man’s suit was given a touch of batik on its collar and Ms. Avantie chose Batik Lasem for this particular design.
Batik Lasem (a small city in Central Java), is one of the coastal batik style with various ornaments and bold bright colors. The color combination and batik Lasem’s ornaments are inspired by Chinese, Javanese, Lasem, Netherlands, Champa, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islamic cultural.
