JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta held a cooking competition yesterday which was participated by no less than 14 Chefs from the entire hotel’s kitchen area. Each Chef presented an authentic Indonesia cuisine of their specialty, which were mostly derived from their secret family recipe. The winner was chosen by an elite panel of judges namely; Indonesia’s renowned Chef de Cuisine, Chef Ragil; senior food critic and writer, Odilia Winneke; and the Executive Chef of JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta, Gyula Harangi, from Hungary.
The 90-minute competition was won by Chef Ridwan Maulana from Sailendra Restaurant with his family’s remarkable: ‘Nasi Tutug Oncom with Gepuk Sambal Kecombrang’ recipe.
The winner will participate in the 2nd Annual ‘INDONESIA CULINARY JOURNEY 2017’ food promotion to celebrate Indonesia’s 72nd Independence Day. The event that will be held from 7-13 August 2017 at Sailendra Restaurant will involve the Eight (8) champion chefs from Eight (8) Marriott International hotels throughout Jakarta along with each Chef’s winning dish.
Throughout the promotion, the winning dishes will be available for lunch and dinner at Sailendra Restaurant, JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta. The ‘INDONESIA CULINARY JOURNEY 2017’ culinary promotion itself will simultaneously be held in the month of August at every Marriott International hotels in Indonesia.
