Hello Jakartans!
Quite the news that recently gone viral: a Stanford University study reveals Indonesians laziest walkers in the world! The study, published in the Nature journal, found Indonesia was the least active country with the population walking an average of 3513 steps a day, way below the global average of 5,000 steps per day. Hong Kong was rated the most active country, with the population walking an average of almost 7000 steps a day, or about six kilometers. Do you think Indonesia deserve the ‘title’? We think that if we want the LRTs and the MRTs to work, we got to start to move our bums (and of course, actual functioning sidewalks that are parking-free, street vendors, and everything in between). Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
The brand new Semanggi interchange, to be called Simpang Susun Semanggi as suggested by its initiator former governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama during his tenure, is going to be inaugurated by President Jokowi on Indonesia’s Independence Day, August 17th 2017, The Jakarta Post reports. It is said that there will be a soft launch before that date, and we can’t wait to get on and see how the long awaited interchange will affect the Semanggi gridlocks.
Henshin at The Westin One more thing we are excited about is the newly opened Jakarta,.
