After last year’s success, this year Hotel JW Marriott Surabaya is going to hold Indonesia Culinary Journey 2017 to present its best culinary creations.
Leading to the main event this coming August, chefs from the four Marriott properties in Surabaya will first take part in an internal competition, “Game of Stoves” held on Monday, July 3rd, 2017 at JW Marriott Surabaya.
Taking place in the hotel’s main kitchen area, the guests were encouraged to see first hand the chefs in action in preparing and presenting their creativity.
There were 9 chefs that participated in the competition: Chef M. Wiranto and Chef Edy Yanto from Fairfield by Marriott, Chef Usman Fatona from Four Points by Sheraton, Chef Andi Hananto and Chef Garret Kadea from Sheraton Hotels and Towers Surabaya and Chef Rubby Antasari, Chef Syalim, Chef Dodik Hermanto and Chef Dino Indra fro JW Marriott Surabaya.
In this competition, each hotel had different tasks to complete. Fourpoints hotel had to create appetizer, while Fairfield by Marriott Hotel had to prepare soup dishes. Sheraton Hotel and Towers had to present a main course and JW Marriott Surabaya a dessert.
The event invited a number of city’s popular food bloggers and media. In this competition, acting as judges were Executive Chef of Sheraton Hotel, Mr. Steve Bhakti Tanudarma, Senior Sous Chef Fourpoints, Mr. Andik , Head Chef Fairfield, Mr. Helmy, Director of Sales & Marketing JW Marriott Surabaya Mr. Roberto Kotambunan, Director of Food & Beverage Mr. Gaurav Saxena, two leading bloggers: @amandakohar, @hendrikpyong, some media friends from Jawa Pos and beritajatim.com, as well as General Manager of JW Marriott Surabaya Mr Colin Young and Sheraton Hotel, Mr. Danny Parnack.
