Last Sunday, hundreds of passengers were stranded overnight at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport as five flights of low-cost carrier Lion Air were delayed due to operational issues for more than 12 hours on Sunday evening, The Jakarta Globe reports. Flights were delayed overnight for passengers of Lion Air’s JT 650 to Lombok, Bengkulu, Surabaya, and Banjarmasin.
State-owned airline Garuda Indonesia has said it is ready to move all of its domestic flights to the newly built Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten. The Indonesian flag carrier airline said it is just waiting wait for final approval from the Transportation Ministry. It has recently been announced by the ministry that the new terminal, would begin operating on August 9th.
