Early childhood education is definitely not a light weight topic. Parents are continuing to find the best method to make sure their children can build strong foundation and value for their positive development in the future. Last Saturday, Leap SchoolHouse had invited parents to an afternoon tea at La Moda together with guest speaker Sandralynn Byrnes, to discuss about how early childhood education shapes our children’s future.
Byrnes mentioned a lot how education of early childhood need to change, as the old way is no longer relevant. For example, adults are often encouraging children to either develop their logic (right brain) or creativity (left brain). However studies has found out that human actually has a core brain which connects the two brains. This means that parents should encourage their children to be good at both, and good at everything. The key is confidence, because when children believe that they can do anything, their future is unlimited.
Esther Lim, Founder of LEAP SchoolHouse, added another example, which is the fact that our lives, adults and children are pretty much influenced by technology. When faced with technology, children is recommended to be pulled back and be taught about skills and value instead to replace it. But since children cannot learn under stress and pressure, they need the right environment so they don’t even realize that they are actually learning something from the activity.
With that idea in mind, LEAP SchoolHouse, an MOE registered enrichment school from Singapore that focuses on literary development of children from 8 months old and up, was established. Now parents in Indonesia can enroll their children too, or have a trial classes first by contacting 021-3150031.
