‘Guest Turns Chef’ at Aston Priority Simatupang

Japanese food is one of the most favorited cuisine for Indonesians, so why do so many of us only enjoy it at restaurants instead of making it at home?

Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center’s japanese outlet, Momiji Restaurant held a free one day event of “Guest Turns Chef in Cooking Class” last Tuesday, 23rd August 2016, where guests are shown how to make and create their own Japanese Cuisine such as Tempura and Sushi.

Chef Didi, The Japanese Chef of Momiji at Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center led the participants through a 90 minute session. First, he explained the rich culture behind Japanese cuisine and showed how to prepare dishes like a pro. The next step, he introduced the finer points of Japanese table etiquette so you can appreciate the food aesthetics, aroma, and connection to the seasons enabling you to enjoy Japanese cuisine like never before.

The 24 participants were excited during the class. Ibu Rahmini, one of our repeater customers at Momiji said ”I love to eat Japanese food and great to know that it’s easy to make Sushi and Tempura after got the clue from Chef Didi, and I am confident to make it at home!”.

About Momiji Japanese Restaurant
Located on the 2nd floor of Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center with a 120 seating capacity for its guests, it features an extensive menu, including ozen, soup, salad, sushi sashimi, age mono, edomae unagi, nabemono, don buri, ochazuke, onigiri, tempura/ furai, teppanyaki, and dessert. The restaurant is unique, contemporary décor without leaving the impression of the authentic of a Japanese atmosphere. Hours of operation are from 12:00 to 02:30 p.m. for lunch and dinner is served from 06:30 to 10:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday.
