The hot and humid Jakarta weather doesn’t let us down last Wednesday as we venture to the Western part of the city for the ‘Joie De Vivre’ event at the modern and luscious trendy hotel by Tauzia Hotel Management Group, Harris Vertu. The upscale arty hotel offers different experience to guests that can be acknowledged from their architectural design and interior mood and ambience, inspired heavily by the French’s belle epoque era that saw raise on the French cultural movement that are reflected from their works of art that covers music, film and fashion.
That night, a day before our independence day, we were treated to an array of hedonism eccentricity with special guests Samifati and RBA performing behind the deck. The French native, Samifati performed live using a violin and an ableton controller that lets the elusive producer juggle its sound performance from his digital audio workstation to the audience. His partner, Axel Vanlerberghe worked on the visual treatment that accompanies audience to the middle-eastern vibe of their musicality.
But the night is not all about the music (and the freeflow, of course). With regards of the hotel’s appreciation of the belle epoque era, an exclusive trunk show by two talented Indonesian designers, Yvonne and Ryan was held highlighting their brand NINE. The Bali-based offers fashion fanatics a handmade technique in delivering their couture and street-style concept wear that is suitable for all market. The evening concluded at around 2.30 am with people still dancing and hazing to the tunes of RBA who played an eclectic selections of future bass, hip hop and jackin’ house tunes. It was really a night that celebrates the joy of living (as the event title suggests).
We also heard that Harris Vertu will be holding more events like this in the future, and with the room package they are offering that night along with entrance to the event and a free flow bar, we sure as hell looks forward to the hotel’s next shindig!
