Sarirasa Group, the people behind some of the favourite Indonesian restaurant chains such as Tesate and Sate Khas Senayan, opens its new project, GOPEK, at Grand Indonesia. In the local language, gopek means five hundred Rupiah, so the restaurant may be hinting about their affordable price!
GOPEK offers peranakan street food culinary experience in a modern and casual environment. Peranakan cuisine was born in Indonesia when the local culture assimilated with cultures from India, China, and Middle East. Some of the famous ones are fuyunghai, mie ayam, and klepon. Nowdays, peranakan cuisine can be found both sold on the street and in luxurious restaurants. However, despite being affordable, foods at GOPEK are high in quality.
The first outlet is located at Grand Indonesia Sky Bridge 5th floor. The strategic venue is a great option for a simple lunch with friends and colleagues during breaktime, or a good dinner after work around the Thamrin area. The venue is also fun and excellent for the young spirited.
All the foods are authentic, using only fresh ingredients, and created from a recipe developed exclusively for the restaurant. There are a lot of variety to choose, from small bites to main course, and traditional dessert. Of course, the prices are pocket friendly. GOPEK’s menu starts from IDR 25,000 to 65,000 only!
