Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Jakarta | (Yet Another) Anti Ahok Rally Coming Your Way
After another long weekend, I hope you had a great start of the week. There are plenty of things coming up ahead!
News from the island parts of Jakarta: The Jakarta administrative government plans to resume the Pulau Seribu airport project. The city will bid out the project to private investors, with incentives given to the winner, including the go ahead to build resorts near the airport, Tempo reports. We can’t wait to be able to fly there!
It is reported that there is going to be yet another rally to come our way this Friday (5/05) to protest our incumbent governor, Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama. This rally will come four days before the North Jakarta District Court judges are set to issue a verdict in Ahok’s blasphemy trial, The Jakarta Globe reports. Hope this rally won’t get in your way!
Here’s an idea for a better celebration of May 5th : Cinco de Mayo! Check out the festivities with Internations or Correlate for a fun Mexican themed festivity. And if you’re in the look-out of new things to try: here are some new restaurants in Jakarta for you to check out. We’ll see you there!
