Jakarta, (March 2017)– In collaboration with The Commercial Office of Peru and The Embassy of Peru, JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta proudly present the authentic Peruvian cuisine at Sailendra Restaurant featuring a special guest chef who is especially flown in from Peru, Chef Eduardo Enrique Montes Traverso. Guests can enjoy Chef Eduardo’s signature Peruvian delights from 24 March until 20 April 2017, available at dinnertime only, 6.00 pm – 10.00 pm, priced at IDR 388,000++ per person.
During this food festival, guests can savor hot Peruvian appetizers such as cholclo con queso, vainas salteadas, potato coctel, chicken skewer and beef heart skewer. The beef heart skewer is a much-loved Peruvian hawker food and a favorite late night dish, which is made from marinated meat in spices and smoky chilies.
As main course, lomo saltado, speguetty huancaina, seco norteno and aji de gallina. For Peruvians, the most delicious aji de gallina is made by their grandmothers. Therefore, this food is often referred as “Grandma’s specialties”.
As the sweet end of the Peruvian culinary journey, suspiro de limena is a must-try item. Carries the city’s name, suspiro de limena originally means “sigh of Lima”, is a combination of dulce de leche or caramelized sugar and smooth meringue.

Chef Eduardo started his career in 2007 and managed to introduce the cuisine to Hong Kong in 2013 as the Executive Chef of Mayta Restaurant. Prior to his arrival at JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta, he was appointed as Corporate Chef of Mayta Restaurant and in charge of opening a new concept of Peruvian cuisine in Asia and United Emirates Arab. With more than ten years of experience in the culinary industry, Chef Eduardo believes that a chef must cook by combining tradition and experience.
