The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place is delighted to announce the recent appointment of Mr. Karan Berry as the General Manager of the hotel and executive residences. Karan has an extensive career of over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place, Karan was the General Manager of JW Marriott Jakarta since December 2011. He has also worked in some of the most renowned luxury properties of The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. He started his hotelier’s journey from The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata and then moved to several other iconic properties like The Oberoi Rajvilas Jaipur and The Oberoi, Mumbai. Karan was one of the youngest general managers, when he took over his assignment at The Oberoi Cecil. Since then he has spent over 11 years being a General Manager.
Karan brings an excellent track of driving innovative strategies with a wealth experience in profitability and management skills. He has received multiple awards and accolades during his spell with The Oberoi Group and Marriott International, few of his achievements include the Service Excellence General Manager of the Year, Alice S. Marriott Award for Community Service and Leadership Excellence Award.
In his spare time, Karan enjoys travelling and spending time with his family. As an avid soccer fan, he is a supporter of Liverpool FC and FC Barcelona. Other than soccer, he also enjoys following cricket and badminton.
