The high quality and exceptionally good taste of this special brew not only kept morale high among the monks, but also inspired young and old to new heights. Despite this, the monks were officially obliged to serve the beer only after Regent Prince Karl Theodor had tried it. He was, of course, immediately convinced and approved a sample in 1780. Fast forward to now, and this tradition is kept alive, with the first sample beer reserved for the Prime Minister of Bavaria.
Here in Indonesia, Paulaner Bräuhaus Jakarta’s brewmaster Arie Susanto has recreated the brew with devotion, care and with his many years of experience. The resulting Frühlingfest bier, which packs a powerful punch at 5% alcohol, has an especially malty taste with a fine balance of sweetness and fruity flavours, making this delicious speciality ideal to enjoy with the equally intense dishes on offer at the restaurant.
Launched on March 30, this limited-edition beer will be available right until the last drop is drunk. Early birds will be rewarded with a truly authentic beer with hundreds of years of history and tradition behind it. Surely an experience worth savouring!
