Located on the third floor of Oakwood Premier Cozmo building, Oakroom Restaurant & Bar, is easy to miss. Other than those living in the building, it is a little tricky to reach for passersby, although not daunting at all. There is a sign, and Oakwood’s staff would happily assist you where you should go.
The resto-lounge was opened at the same time the premium serviced apartment opened to mostly cater its short and long term guests. But after a while, the restaurant starts to attract many office workers surrounding the area, especially for its considerably affordable price tag, despite set in a premium location, and obviously, the food.
Oakroom serves very straightforward dining options that want to cater to most taste buds. It is an allday dining that includes international gourmet classics, local Indonesian and Asian favorites. Something that many restaurants claim to be able to do, but many times fail to deliver.
But in Oakroom, i was pleasantly surprised by how consistently good everything was. The menu is big, but nothing pretentious or ‘hip’. They’re all everything you’ve seen, and you will want to try anyway. Having said that, Chef Deden, the executive chef, always tries new things to surprise its most loyal customer’s palates. Such as with his latest creations, the parmesan wings, succulent deep fried chicken wings tossed in aromatic parmesan cheese. Delish. We dare you to only eat just one. You’re guaranteed to want more and more. And ranging from 45k to 85k for main courses, (and 200k to 325k for steaks), the price is surprisingly affordable!
Their Oakwood Pizza is one of the popular items for casual lunch or to share; thin crust pizza topped with tender chicken cuts, sliced smoked beef, and bell pepper.
But the ultimate sharing snack would be the nachos; fried corn tortilla with generous portion of melted mozzarella, hearty meat sauce, jalapeno, and sour cream, that can feed a group of up to four, I am sure.
For drinks, Oakroom has regular promotion every month, and that day I had the ‘Janur Kuning’ made from young coconut mixed with fresh orange juice; Bambu Runcing made from green caisim mixed with honey dew and fresh orange juice, all only for Rp. 30,000.
The restaurant has four areas – the Restaurant (indoor dining), Lounge area, the Bar and Al Fresco (outdoor dining). With a total seating capacity of 144, the areas transit seamlessly from one to the other and are designed to hold different numbers of people at a time. The Restaurant, the largest area in the restaurant, can hold 58 diners while the other areas can seat 44, 20 and 22 diners respectively. What’s best, each area is customization to whatever event you’re having, either for meetings, parties, cocktail events, even to weddings!
