A weekend getaway doesn’t need to be far off the city. Why bear the hours of travel time for a short escape where there are countless options of how you can experience the ‘resort’ style lounging right in the center of Jakarta’s hustle and bustle.
Whatsnewjakarta recently visited the all-new RIVA grill & bar, which not only offers its signature fine dining menu but also its casual and relaxed outdoor terrace and pool. As you stepped out of the Riva’s indoor and semi-outdoor sitting area, you will quickly be sucked in into a holiday vibe. The sound of water splashing and flowing from the lagoon style swimming pool and calming bossanova on the background greets and takes you to an oasis inside the city.
The best part is you don’t need to stay in the hotel to enjoy the pool and the terrace area! On Saturdays and Sundays, the pool is open for the public from 4.30 pm onwards. The only catch is to order one of the many signature Riva drinks or poolside nibs. Not a hard task with Riva’s reputation for fine dining selection; although a new kid-friendly and more casual menu has been created exclusively for the pool crowd such as wood oven pizzas sandwiches, burgers & fries, and popular snacks like the famous Riva Pisang Goreng, Waffle, or Nachos.
Pick one of the many cabanas & lounge-style seats spread around the pool. As the night falls, relax with the mix of upbeat and relaxing tunes from Riva’s resident DJ, Aiu Kandi,over a glass of beer or try one of the many healthy juices, infused water cocktails and mocktails including Tic Tac Toe, Melon Grass, Green Hornet & Casablanca Splash at Rp.55.000++.
A lazy afternoon at Riva’s pool definitely made us forget where we were; as the honks of the cars and the rattle of the bajajs hardly audible from the distance. Truly a break from the city!
