In January, Alila Solo will present the second lineup of its Guest Chef in Residence series to coincide with both the launch of its new Weekend Brunch at its signature restaurant, Épice, and welcoming the Chinese New Year of Rooster featuring two days of culinary events hosted by junior master chef Revo, one of Indonesia’s most exciting young culinary talents.
Alila Solo’s Guest Chef in Residence series presents culinary adventures organised in collaboration with various master chefs from Indonesia and around the globe, aimed at showcasing the world of culinary arts to guests as well as Solo residents.
Jakarta-born Revo is a passionate young amateur chef who, at just 14 years of age, has already made great strides towards his dream of becoming a professional chef. Among his many culinary exploits, he participated in the Jakarta Culinary Festival in 2012; he finished in the top six of Junior MasterChef Indonesia Season One in 2014; he has his own cooking videos and YouTube channel on Kokiku TV; and shares his love of cooking through his own #Revolution Private Dining business. Revo has also met, interviewed and cooked with renowned chefs at high profile culinary events and masterclasses, enhancing his skills and his determination to make Indonesia the culinary hot spot in Asia.
Chef Revo will be in action at Alila Solo for two days. On Saturday, 21 January, he will present a live cooking show at Épice, sharing the secrets behind five of his signature dishes. On Sunday, 22 January, he will conduct an exclusive cooking class for 20 children and budding young chefs at the meeting hub terrace on Level 3. This will be followed by lunch at Épice with Chef Revo himself.
Meanwhile, diners can enjoy their first taste of the hotel’s new Weekend Brunch – the first weekend brunch offering in Solo – featuring a sumptuous dim sum buffet and free flow of Chinese tea, served at Épice every weekend from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
Merging modern style with Javanese influences, incorporating timber and metal lattices adorned with a traditional kawung pattern, and long tables of solid teak, Épice provides a charming venue and a relaxed ambience for lingering over a leisurely brunch with family or friends – destined to become Solo’s new weekend rendezvous.
Join us for a wonderful weekend of food at Alila Solo with Chef Revo, Indonesia’s culinary rising star…
