Hotel Gran Mahakam Had Recently Won Three Prestigious Awards From Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards – Hapa Regional Awards 2016-2018

hapa-awards-hgmJakarta, 28 November 2016, Hotel Gran Mahakam Jakarta had recently won HAPA Best Boutique Hotel 2016-2018 and HAPA Restaurant of The Year 2016-2018 for Le Gran Café and awarded Dr. Kahar Tjandra, Principal of Hotel Gran Mahakam as HAPA Icon of The Year – Hospitality Entrepreneur in the 13th series of the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA Awards), HAPA Regional 2016-2018, staged at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 11 November 2016. The event was opened by Jennifer Ong, the Founder of HAPA Awards and witnessed by the hospitality professionals from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, to celebrate achievements in hospitality excellence.

The HAPA Regional Awards has been a key event in the hospitality industry in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. This year’s nominees had the opportunity to nominate for a number of award categories covering most sections of the industry. HAPA has prided itself in recognizing those who work hard in their respective sectors and it is not just about 5-star properties and leading restaurants but a good cross-section in the industry. Another highlight of the event was the introduction of the new benchmark system whereby the HAPA Awards enables properties and personalities to benchmark themselves in accordance with the criteria set for each category and nominees who have surpassed the respective category benchmark score receives an Award for Excellence for their achievements. All on-site assessments were conducted incognito by their panel of auditors comprising hospitality industry professionals, academics, writers, agents, corporate professionals and C-level individuals.

Under the category of HAPA Best Boutique Hotel, the votes were based on website and reservation system, arrival and departure, transition, overall stay experience and stay quality, room and hotel design, furnishing, comfort and facilities, F&B outlets, service, overall personnel grooming, image design and maintenance, safety and security facilities and unique lifestyle experience. For HAPA Restaurant of The Year 2016-2018 for Le Gran Café, the votes were based on website and reservation system, arrival and departure, menu concept and design, F&B selections and quality, dining experience, bill settlement, ambiance and setting, overall personnel grooming, overall maintenance and cleanliness, exceptional service excellence, impressive table setting and unique signature dishes. For HAPA Icon of The Year – Hospitality Entrepreneur, Dr. Kahar Tjandra has been recognized as a Principal whom has demonstrated excellent leadership in the Indonesia travel and tourism industry and has directly and indirectly contributed to its future growth and development. The votes were based on personality and inherent qualities, professional background, major accomplishments and significant achievements, industry proficiency and experience, personal and professional aspirations, leadership qualities, entrepreneurial skills and innovation, corporate culture and core ideology, financial management, present and future vision, career succession plans, staff welfare and CSR contributions.
