Le Meridien has announced the appointment of its new General Manager, Mr. Kanit Sangmookda, that will be responsible for the entire hotel operations.
Mr. Kanit is a Professional Thai Hotelier, who holds a Master’s Degree in International Business Management, majoring in Management and Economic from Wollongong University, Australia. He brings over than 15 years of experience working in leading hotel chains in Asia Pacific, such as Marriott International, Minor Hotel Group, and lastly Starwood Hotel and Resorts.
Mr. Kanit has held positions as Director or Revenue Management at Bangkok Marriott Resorts and Spa, Thailand, The Westin Kuala Lumpur, Regional Director of Revenue Management for all Starwood Hotel and Resorts in Southeast Asia. Prior to this current appointment, Mr. Kanit spent almost three years as General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan – Sabah, Malaysia, where he succesfully led the hotel to improve the the performance by 27% year over year. He then balances his free time to follow his self-esteem by being a part time university lecturer and a mentor for several high potential associates in Starwood to become the next generation of Hotel Managers and Executives in the Company.
Mr. Kanit is a passionate leader who always believes that the success of an organization is not only from a good leader but has to be from a competent team. He then drives his team to efficiently reach the business goal at the same time as a supporter or mentor to guide them to fulfill their potential.
On personal side, Mr. Kanit respects his work-life balance and values the importance of family, likes music, exercise and enjoys photography.
