Ride-sharing Apps Faced with Another ‘Strike’ & Win a Dinner for Two at Warung Turki/ Turkuaz!

Dear Jakartans!

Last Monday (14/03) more than a thousand taxi and other public transportation drivers in Jakarta held a mass strike against transportation-based online application services like Uber and GrabTaxi. The drivers complained the apps had caused a significant decline in customer numbers for the traditional services, resulting in a loss in income. Following this strike, The Ministry of Communications has stated that it will summon the ride sharing companies to settle a new regulation.

This week, take part in the worldwide Earth Hour between 8.30PM and 9.30PMin all local time zones. Indonesia’s iconic Borobudur and Prambanan temples are set to be darkened during Earth Hour, the annual campaign to switch off all non-essential electric lights, and some business, hotels, and restaurants will also take part by combining it with creative events.

Easter weekend is coming up soon, and if you don’t want to wait another week for an egg-citing time, I suggest coming down to Colonial Kemang for an early Easter feast where your kids can be entertained with playful children activities. This way, your family gets to have two Easter weekends instead of one!

Don’t miss out the chance to win an exquisite lunch/dinner for two at Turkuaz/Warung Turki. Just answer this simple question for this week’s quiz: “What is babaganuc made of?” Submit your answer to turwar.quiz@gmail.com and see if you’re the lucky winner to last week’s quiz here!
