Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that are passed from one person to another primarily through sexual contact, caused by bacteria, parasites, yeast, and viruses.
There are many types of STDs, including Chlamydia, herpes, Gonorrhea, HPV, Syphilis, and the most deadly: HIV/AIDS. Contrary to popular belief, STDs can affect anyone, not only men and women that are sexually active. If a pregnant woman has an STD, it can cause serious health problems for the baby.
There is no cure for STDs caused by a virus, but medicines can often help with the symptoms and keep the disease under control. Correct usage of latex condoms greatly reduces, but does not completely eliminate, the risk of catching or spreading STDs.
When contracted, examination & treatment by certified physician can provide a high cure rate. On the other hand, self-treatment by ill-informed patient or untrained personnel can complicate and even lead to resistant pathogens. Complications vary greatly, ranging from mild pain during urinating to serious danger such as infant blindness, fetal death, infertility, and even death.
If you are sexually active and have been with more than one sexual partner, or have recently been in contact with a person that were, get checked in a trusted medical facility. To get to know more about STDs and in the many ways you can safely treat it, get in touch with:
