Hotels under Marriott International and Starwood Hotels just finished its a charity run last week on 24 September 2017 to raise funds for Yayasan Emanuel, a food rescue foundation. Run To Give 2017 succeeds in pooling in a total of more than 2000 runners who contributes IDR 100,000 each.
Runners follow the route starting from Le Meridien, turning in Bundaran HI and Semanggi and eventually ending up in Le Meridien again, completing a 5 km run. The first 400 runners to cross the finish line receive gold medals to appreciate their efforts. Each runner is also given a T-shirt, running number, and drink.
The four and five star hotels contribute by preparing foods to be distributed to malnourished communities. The safety and quality of the foods is guaranteed to be excellent to make sure the community’s needs are satisfied. All supplies are provided free of charge and the distribution prioritizes children, mothers, and elderly. Yayasan Emmanuel also provides education to communities where the income is below poverty line of IDR 10,000.
