Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta Brings the Fun Sunday to Komunitas Jendela

As one of the hotel that has been established since 1976, Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta has held so many CSR activities in Jakarta area. On October 25th, 2015, CARE Champion team held the “CARE Fun Sunday” together with Komunitas Jendela.

Komunitas Jendela, is a community that is focusing on supporting children’s education, creating the children’s awareness to learn through reading some books, developing a library and increasing children’s knowledge. Located at Jalan Manggarai Utara VI in South Jakarta, Komunitas Jendela was formed on March 12, 2011 in Yogyakarta. Started at 2:00pm, all the children gathered in the yard and did the story-telling competition as the opening. After a while, they could join the cookies decoration activity. The children were enthusiast to decorate the cookies that had been prepared by our RB&E (Restaurant, Bar and Event) Team.

After they finished decorating the cookies, CARE Champion team distributed chocolate milk and school stationaries to the children. At the end, we also presented some prizes for them who participated on the story telling activity. We hope by doing this event regularly, we could support the local communities program by helping them as volunteers and support the children education that live under privilege.

Mt. Rinjani Disrupts Bali-bound Flights | November Event Highlights

Dear Jakartans,

A number of flights to and from Bali have been cancelled for a second day due to a drifting ash cloud from Mt Rinjani.  Both Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport and Lombok’s Selaparang Airport will be closed until at least Thursday morning (8/11), The Ministry of Transportation’s Head of Communication JA Barata stated today, and all flights will be grounded until further assessment by the officials. All Bali-bound Virgin Australia and Jetstar flights have been cancelled today, whilst Air Asia said at least 13 of its flights had been affected and urged their customers to stay updated through their social media account.

The downpours that have been falling for few days straight in parts of the country have begun to reduce the number of hot spots in the forest fires of Sumatra. National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said on Saturday that the combination of artificial rain and natural rain falling across Sumatra and Kalimantan from October 26 had helped tremendously in fighting the raging forest fires.

An enthusiastic home chef from a young age, 32-year-old Marius always knew he would carve out a career in cooking professionally. And so he did, spending more than 15 years at top Michelin-starred restaurants in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK. Marius firmly believes that a good chef is flexible, not stiff and dogmatic, when it comes to recipes and menus. And knowing what guests wants helped Marius achieve a very respectable career catering for high-profile banquets in honour of the King of Saudi Arabia and then some 50,000 people for the Ramadan feast and royal weddings in his last post at the Rosewood Hotel in Saudi Arabia.

He’s also no stranger to the management of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski. “Having worked with Chef Marius before, I am confident that he will bring his knowledge and expertise to assist our Executive Chef Mathias Olsson in overseeing our eight F&B operations as well as our large wedding and convention businesses,” said General Manager Alex Pichel.

Keraton at The Plaza, recently announced its new appointed General Manager: Stephan Sieberg, a German born proficient hotelier arrayed with 29 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Previously, Stephan Sieberg has the experience in working for Starwood Brand properties, such as Westin and Sheraton in various countries. He started his career within Starwood in 1989 as an Assistant Chief Steward at Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel and Conference Centre in Germany.
